Gabe's learning pal

The elephant is self-aware and recognizes himself in the mirror. It is also in danger of becoming extinct, a fear I share for some of my most effective study habits such as reading books and taking notes with pen and paper. Also this big fella is cooling off and I greatly value break-taking in the pursuit of learning.

Alexandra's Learning Spirit Animal

I chose this owl for two reasons:

  1. In many ways, I am a traditional learner, like the kind stereotyped by an owl. I love learning from books and taking notes. I live in my head and am not usually drawn to hands-on projects.
  2. I love the curiosity suggested by this owl's head-tilt. I learn a lot by asking questions.
I chose a spider because I always have a lot of "legs" learning different things, but I try to have all those legs constructing (as a "web") connections and relationships between them.

Doesn't he look happy to be learning so much?

The Dolphin is my "medicine animal". Ideas about the way we learn:
collaborative, playful, intelligent, emotional, positive, "musical", integrated, multiple modes, experimental, more focused on process than results,

Kellie's animal

slow and steady, moves best when immersed

Big Horn Sheep

I went with the big horn sheep because I have a contentious learning style that depends heavily on debate and discussion.  I learn best with an adversary with whom i can debate ideas. Also I liked the idea of bashing my head against a problem.
