I think the main thing I'm learning so far is the wider purpose of a blog. I've had my teaching reflection/idea blog for a year or more, but I hadn't deeply considered how I might use blogger in a class (aside from student travel blogs for the DR trip). I'm eager to think more about which units of study a class blog or individual student blogs would work well. For instance, should the seniors all have a blog as they plan their next educational steps? Would that be fun and valuable? Or how about a blog for the 9/10th tech. unit? That seems appropriate.
I also didn't know about the adding the gadgets, which is cool.

I chose a cat, partially because I didn't feel like thinking too hard and it was the first animal I thought of. However, there are definitely cat qualities to myself as a learner. I can be a bit aloof at first, as I learn new material, but appreciate the comradery of play from peers and help from a trusted teacher once I get started. Cats have their own way of approaching things--and will both mimic us as humans (my cat drinks from a wine glass) and insist on their own ways (getting under the sheets as I make the bed). In the same way, I like to see a model of what I'm trying to do, but I also like to be creative and think of my own ways of expression.
I also like this picture:
Sometimes cats seem like they're not listening, but they hear all. Like me as a learner (except when I zone out because I have socks around my head)
