Google Classroom seems to motivate students to complete work (they see "late" and don't like it) and stay more aware of what has ben assigned.
I love having a space for all class materials, being able to draft assignments, then post. I love being able to announce along w/ assign.
Easy to check quickly who has turned in and who hasn't.
Everybody has a device=everybody does an in-class writing. Or writing workshop. Or looks something up.
Easy to put choices up in my Specials class, with links. Nice differentiation potential.
What I don't like:
Distractibility (asking 3 zillion times to close or put away your computers).
Some students aren't accessing Classroom or learning how to navigate it, and don't like it.
Questions:
When I want to assign an in-class activity, but there's not really a final product to turn in, how do students "turn in"? I don't like the messiness of the Specials Class when I have no HW, and much is classwork, but no clear (yet) "proof" to show what they did.
